Year 3 had a great time at Barleylands Farm Park yesterday. The children enjoyed a tractor ride and feeding some of the animals. The children also learnt about how wheat and rapeseed are grown and then used these as ingredients when making their own pizzas. Everyone had a lovely time. On Tuesday, our year 3 children immersed themselves in all things Ancient Egyptian. Stepping into the role of archaeologists, they used their knowledge of four-figure grid references to try to discover the location of Cleopatra’s tomb. This week, the children in years 3 and 4 were thrilled to welcome star author Chrissie Sains to Hamstel Junior School, where she shared the magic of her brand-new book, Beastopia ! Chrissie arrived with a treasure chest full of mysterious objects that she uses to spark ideas for her stories. The children were fascinated as she revealed how she dreams up her incredible mythical creatures before joining in to create their very own unique beasts. Everyone was encouraged to thin
