3L travelled back in time several times during their class assembly last week as they joined together to do the ‘Time Warp’. The children shared their learning about Ancient Egypt, inspired by their exciting class book A Mummy Ate My Homework.
The class proudly showcased the canopic jars they’d created and impressed everyone with their knowledge of what each jar would have contained during the time of Cleopatra. Using their geography skills, they demonstrated how they have been practising four‑figure grid references, ready to locate Cleopatra’s burial site!
3L were also confident that Cleopatra herself would have admired their pneumatic sarcophagus designs, as well as their growing knowledge of French (fitting for a queen known to speak nine languages!).
The children continued to shine as they shared their brilliant Beat the Monster stories, demonstrating excellent vocabulary choices and expressive reading. 3L brought their assembly to a heartfelt close with a touching performance of Lean on Me, thanking their friends and the adults who support them when things get tough.
Well done, 3L, on a fantastic and memorable class assembly!
