5D Class Assembly
5D invited everyone to enjoy the latest episode of Hamstel Newsround, focusing on Your Planet. The episode started with the class linking their work on the class text The Last Bear to explore differences in temperature and climate between Southend and Svalbard in Norway. Fortunately, 5D has its very own French designer, who used the children’s science learning to help them create a new clothing line, applying their knowledge that fleece and neoprene are the best insulators. Year 3 Trip to Barleylands
Year 3 had a great time at Barleylands Farm Park yesterday. The children enjoyed a tractor ride and feeding some of the animals. The children also learnt about how wheat and rapeseed are grown and then used these as ingredients when making their own pizzas. Everyone had a lovely time. Thank you to all the parents who came along to help on the day; your help was much appreciated.

Year 4 Production of 'Porridge'
Well done to everyone in year 4 who performed so brilliantly this week in their production of Porridge! Year 3 Egyptian Day
On Tuesday, our year 3 children immersed themselves in all things Ancient Egyptian. Stepping into the role of archaeologists, they used their knowledge of four-figure grid references to try to discover the location of Cleopatra’s tomb. The children had a great time yesterday during World Book Day . The day started with a special assembly where the children had to work out who the special 'masked readers' were from amongst the staff. Glee Club had a great time on Tuesday when they closed the show at the Palace Theatre for the Southend Makes Music concert! Well done to everyone who performed. Year 6 Carol Service at Holy Trinity Church
Our Christmas performances started on Friday with the year 6 carol service at Holy Trinity Church. The year group performed in two halves due to the size of the venue, with parents invited along to their child's performance. Year 4 Roman Day
Year 4 stepped back in time this week when they spent the day as Romans!
