Year 3 really enjoyed immersing themselves in the Stone Age period and demonstrating what they have learnt over the half term about how to survive during this period!
The children started the day by building models of Skara Brae using clay. After considering what type of shelter they'd need, the children ensured they'd have enough to eat by planting vegetables ready to harvest later in the year.
The children used sports equipment to replicate the spears and rocks that Stone Age people would have used to hunt and learnt how to use flint and steel to make a spark for a fire.
The day ended with a great Stone Age tale, The Great Cave by Terry Deary. A great day was had by all!
