Children with SEND
Children with SEND may have a difficulty that makes it harder for them to learn at the same rate as their peers. These children often need extra or different support than that of other children. Hamstel Junior School caters for children with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). At present we cater for children in each of the categories of need: Communication and interaction; Cognition and learning; Social, mental and emotional health; Sensory and / or physical.
Hamstel Junior School is a fully inclusive mainstream school which strives to ensure that all pupils achieve their potential personally, socially, emotionally and academically in all areas of the curriculum, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, physical ability and educational needs. This document is intended to give you information regarding the ways in which we strive to support all of our pupils, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in order that they can realise their full potential.
The policies for working with children with SEND are available through the school office.
If you would like further information about what we offer at Hamstel Junior School, then please do not hesitate to contact our SENCo, Miss Vosper, via the school office.
