The children in year 6 were transported back in time last week to 1941 and the middle of World War II!

The children participated in a number of different activities over the day including Digging for Victory where they prepared beds to plant a range of vegetables that would have been eaten during the war. The children also found out how to Make do and Mend by learning sewing techniques to patch worn out clothes. The children learnt some popular war time songs as well as a dance. Finally, the children learnt to cook baked potato cakes, which proved to be surprisingly popular!
