6S entertained the whole school as well as family and friends with a journey through their year 6 books in last week's class assembly!
The children’s book, Letters from the Lighthouse, which they read in the autumn term, really supported their understanding of what it would have been like to have been evacuated during WWII, whilst Parvana’s Journey gave them an insight into life for children in another part of the world. The book Stormbreaker was another favourite which linked brilliantly to the children’s work in music and PE. Finally, this term’s book, Kensuke’s Kingdom, is inspiring some great descriptive writing in 6S.
The assembly finished with the Hamstel song!
