Autumn Term

Sport at Hamstel

We are very proud of all our teams who have represented the school this year.  It is great to see our children develop their ability to work as part of a team, develop their skills and involve themselves in competitive sports.

Children from all year groups competed in the cross country event at Garon Park.  The cold and windy conditions made a tough course even harder but the children were well prepared having trained hard in the lead up to the competition.  There were lots of placings in the top 50 and top 20 from a field of over 150 children.  Well done to all the children.

                                                                                Tag Rugby

Our year 6 tag rugby teams took part in the Southend Primary Sports Association Festival at Southend Rugby Club.

They played superbly with both teams winning all of their three matches, scoring a combined total of 52 tries and conceding only 25!

A real example of courage, excellence and determination!

Our girls' team represented the school really well at the recent Southend Schools' Football competition.  It was their first opportunity to play competitively as a team.  The team showed real potential, narrowly missing out on reaching the Super 8 stage of the competition. In spite of their disappointment the girls made the most of the day by playing a range of friendly matches where they scored a wealth of goals - winning two and drawing one game.  Well done to the whole team.
