Year 6 Display Board

Clay Models

Year 6 have been learning about the work of Henry Moore.

They used clay to create sculptures depicting how people sheltered from

'The Blitz' in underground stations.

Year 6 children have been learning a variety of yoga flows to improve their balance.

Through each posture, they have developed their physical strength, emotional wellbeing and ability to think about how activities make them feel.

This term year 6 has been studying World War Two. The children have explored what life was like for people during the Blitz.
In art lessons the children studied Henry Moore, a famous artist from this period. On the 4th night of the Blitz Henry Moore witnessed the moving scenes of people hiding and protecting themselves in the London Underground. 6G have enjoyed analysing Henry Moore’s artwork and the range of pencil strokes he used. The children had a go themselves and even experimented by shading with charcoal.
