Year 3 and 4 enjoyed welcoming star author, Gareth P. Jones to Hamstel this half term. The children created some fantastic stories of their own having been set a writing challenge by Gareth.
There was also the opportunity for pupils to have their books signed and ask Gareth questions.

Our Aim High group were extremely lucky to welcome a visitor from Roaming Robots. They met some original machines from TV show Robot Wars and explored the creative, fun side of engineering by driving, building and battling their own robots.
Our first Celebration Assembly of the year was a great success with the year groups sharing some brilliant examples of their work. Our whole school, two day project saw year 3 creating a school, year 4 a town, year 5 a city and year 6 their own island nation. The children had some very respectful discussions about the rules and laws that they felt were important to make sure that everyone remained happy and safe with some very democratic decisions being made around creating an identity for their new communities. We continued to develop our understanding of the Hamstel Rights (the right to be safe, to respect and to learn) and our Hamstel Habits (don’t give up, push yourself, try new things, imagine, concentrate, improve, work hard and understand others) through the work we produced.
